When it came to escaping the ‘noise’, my Dad’s Mum helped massively in the early years. Grandma loved and spoiled me big time. Every week without fail there was a Ribena in the fridge and £5 pocket money waiting for me. I remember one time she had a massive 99 ice cream with a flake and sprinkles in a cup. She’d bought it and put it in the freezer until I made it round.
